Lined up for lunch We eat healthy here at the St. Thomas Girls Course Eating great food Ana enjoying lunch Amanda and Andie waiting for their voice lesson
Hi Emma! I recognized your exclamation points in the Sunday posts--always a good sign that you're having a terrific time! I thought of you last night; hope Evensong went well--I'm so sorry I couldn't hear it live! Ian said yesterday that he didn't expect to miss you but that he really did--so there! (Three exclamation points for me.) I love you, Mom xx
In 2005, Music Directors in the New York area expressed interest in joining together to form a chorister experience of the highest caliber for girls. The Choir School was delighted to offer space, resources and experience to the endeavor. Since then, the Choir School has proudly taken full ownership of the course and developed a schedule and musical standard parallel to that of the boys during the academic terms. In 2008, we offer a nine day choral experience to outstanding girls selected by an application process. In addition to rehearsals there are required classes: Sports, Use of the Voice, & Sight-singing. There are many “Special Events” scheduled: a sight-seeing trip, Sundaes on Tuesday, Pizza & Movie night, a Broadway Show, and our own gala candle light awards banquet and skit night.
Our goal is to provide a chorister experience that replicates that of the Saint Thomas boy choristers – live, learn, play and sing together. This year, the course is limited to those girls who have completed 8th grade through high school.
